February 2, 2010: Dr. Joseph Engel, one of the electrical industry's leading lights, has joined the SemaConnect Advisory Board. Dr. Engel has had a long and distinguished career at Westinghouse and later at Eaton, where he was instrumental in designing and developing many innovative products. He has over 100 issued patents.


SemaConnect supports the Baltimore Electric Vehicle Initiative (BEVI)

November 15, 2009: SemaConnect began participating in the Baltimore Electric Vehicle Initiative (BEVI), a non-profit dedicated to catalyzing the adoption of electric cars in the mid-Atlantic region. BEVI has been actively involved in policy discussions with planners and policy makers in this region and is steering efforts to formulate appropriate policies and frameworks for deploying electric cars. Charging infrastructure is a key part of this plan, and BEVI is promoting efforts to crystallize a plan that establishes an "electric vehicle corridor" in this region. SemaConnect is actively involved in supporting and assisting BEVI in its objective of making electric cars a reality in the region.

The 2009 WBTshowcase will be held from March 24-25, 2009, in Arlington-DFW, Texas.  SemaConnect Inc’s charging infrastructure technology, which represents a significant innovation in automobile to grid connectivity  space, will compete with up to 100 other presenting companies and research institutions at the 2009 WBTshowcase, the world’s premier event exposing undiscovered innovations emanating from top universities, labs and research institutions representing the energy, life science, information technology and physical science sectors.

SemaConnect's president, Mahi Reddy, addressed a session at the Enabling Electric and Vehicle Markets 2008 conference. His session was titled:

Charging Infrastructure – the key to successful deployment of EVs and PHEVs What are the big challenges in establishing charging infrastructure? What are the technology choices that can handle these challenges and scale?
