CBRE and SemaConnect Bring EV Education To Nation’s Commercial Property Market

12-City “Get Charged” Roadshow Leads to Ongoing Professional Development Program for 2016

November 23, 2015: Washington, DC – SemaConnect, the North American leader in Class “A” commercial electric vehicle charging solutions, has joined with CBRE, the world’s premier, full-service real estate services company, in a series of education campaigns to bring greater awareness of electric vehicle benefits to commercial property professionals across the nation.

As the number of EVs on the road surpasses 1 million globally, the vehicle-fueling paradigm is shifting quickly. Instead of gas stations, EV drivers primarily charge up at home or at the office. Collaboration between SemaConnect and CBRE is proving to be successful in helping commercial real estate leaders understand the role they play in growing EV adoption across the U.S. by providing reliable and trusted charging infrastructure at the workplace and at large multifamily complexes.

By offering this new green amenity to tenants and visitors, property managers can directly benefit from increased marketing value of their properties by showcasing a highly visible complement to LEED programs. Further, having a smart charging system allows managers to have control over access and pricing policies to capture revenue.

The “Get Charged Roadshow,” a five-week, 12-city education session held this summer, brought the U.S. Green Building Council-sanctioned continuing education course on electric vehicle charging to hundreds of built environment professionals across the nation. With the success of that program, the two organizations are packaging another major professional development program in 2016, dedicated to education and promoting widespread and reliable EV charging infrastructure at commercial properties.
