SemaConnect History
The Beginning
In 2008, the first generation Tesla Roadster begins general production, and Mahi Reddy has a question: how can we create the best EV charging experience for drivers? Thus, SemaConnect begins.
An Exciting Start
The company moves into the Chesapeake Innovation Center with three employees and our first charging station. Unlike other early charging startups, we design our own unique hardware and software for commercial properties.
SemaConnect Founder and CEO, Mahi Reddy, is awarded the Maryland Clean Energy Center’s Startup Entrepreneur of the Year.
The First Installation
SemaConnect completes our first installation at the College Square Shopping Center in Westminster, Maryland and becomes MetLabs certified.
Rapid Growth
SemaConnect expands its sales offices to include Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego, Houston, Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, Long Island, and Boston.
An Electric Choice
SemaConnect is chosen as a vendor for Electrify America’s nationwide rollout of Level 2 charging stations at 215 workplace and multifamily locations.
A Pioneering Partnership
Google chooses SemaConnect as one of five partners in its project to add EV charging stations to Google Maps.
A New Start
SemaConnect receives investment from Trilantic North America, allowing for product expansion and significantly increased production.
National Exposure
SemaConnect's Founder and CEO, Mahi Reddy, is chosen to represent the EV charging industry at an event with Vice President Kamala Harris, where a new federal EV program is announced.
The US-based SemaConnect team triples in size.
