Do you own a business in the Portland, Oregon region? Portland General Electric has a limited-time rebate for business customers who install electric vehicle charging stations! This per-port rebate program can help you attract new clients and support Portland’s growing number of electric vehicles. Here’s how it works.
The PGE Business EV Charging Rebate Program is now open to business customers who install Level 2 electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) from an approved product list. Any PGE business customer including workplace, retail, public, multifamily, municipal, and fleet, can apply. You’ll get $1,000 per port, up to $50,000 per customer! The SemaConnect Series 5 Multifamily, Series 6 Commercial, and Series 7 Fleet EV charging stations are all approved for this rebate. And because this rebate is administered per port, that means that you can get $2,000 for a dual Series 5, dual Series 6, or any Series 7 charging station!
Income-Qualified Multifamily Rebate
Another key part of PGE’s EV charging rebate is the additional rebate for income-eligible multifamily properties. Instead of $1,000 per port, qualifying multifamily properties can receive $2,300 per port, up to $50,000 per customer. Multifamily properties that qualify for Section 8 housing or have 50% of residents at or below 80% of the median income can save significantly on smart charging stations! Similar to the lesser rebate, this per-port rebate means a total savings of $4,600 for dual pedestal Series 5 and Series 6 charging stations!
Program Requirements & Application
For both PGE Business EV Charging Rebates, applicants must install the charging stations before applying for funding. Not only can you buy your charging stations, but you can also choose a Charging as a Service option. What matters is that the stations remain operational and on a qualifying PGE rate for 10 years. You must pay your utility energy bills, but you can use the SemaConnect Network to restrict access and/or bill drivers for use.
Want to learn more? Visit PGE’s EV Charging Rebate page, then request your quote for your SemaConnect Series 5, Series 6, or Series 7 charging stations! Don’t forget – if you complete installation before December 31, 2021, you can also qualify for the federal EV charging tax credit.
