A few weeks ago, we introduced the new Series 7 Plus, a higher powered, Level 2 electric vehicle charging station for fleets. This 80amp station can charge an electric vehicle at 19.2kW, which means a more powerful charge for a more powerful vehicle. While most electric vehicles are limited to a 6.6-7.2kW charge, several exciting electric fleet vehicles with more powerful on-board chargers are now available. Here are a few EVs that will truly benefit from a high-powered Series 7 Plus fleet charging station.

Ford F-150 Lightning Pro

Ford officially debuted the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning during the same week as we introduced the new Series 7 Plus charging station. The following week, they announced the new F-150 Lightning Pro for commercial fleets. According to Ford, the Standard Range battery has an 11.3kW on-board charger, while the Extended Range battery has a 19.2kW on-board charger. While the Lightning Pro orders have not opened yet, fleet managers can join Ford’s email list for order information.

Ford E-Transit

The best-selling commercial vehicle is going electric! Like the F-150 Lightning, the new 2022 Ford E-Transit will offer an 11.3kW on-board charger. Choose your preferred roof height, body length, and chassis cab/cutaway model. Like the Lightning Pro, this new electric van is not taking orders yet, but it has an email signup for fleet managers.

Arrival Van

Arrival is a newer company making electric buses, vans, and cars. In fact, UPS has already ordered 10,000 Arrival Vans for its delivery fleet. According to Electrek, the North American version of the Arrival Van will have a peak charging capacity of 11kW. Van options on the Arrival website include cargo vans, chassis van, passenger van, and a walk-in van.

Rivian R1T

The new Rivian R1T is another exciting pickup truck with a powerful charge. If you remember, Rivian is a new company that counts Ford among its investors and is expected to make a big splash. And Amazon started road tests of their electric delivery vans from Rivian earlier this year. While Rivian has not released too much information about their delivery van specs, we do know more about the R1T truck and R1S SUV. Both vehicles have an 11.5kW onboard charger. While reservations for the R1T Launch Edition are full, orders are currently open for the Adventure Package and Explore Package editions, which will begin deliveries in January 2022.

Tesla Performance Models

While our other highlighted vehicles are trucks and vans, we don’t want to forget about sedans. Some governments, including local police departments, are buying new or used Teslas for their fleets. According to Tesla, if you buy a Performance or Long Range version of the Model S, Model 3, Model X, or Model Y, your vehicle will have an 11.5kW onboard charger.

When it comes to charging an electric vehicle, it’s all about the onboard charger. If you plan to order electric fleet vehicles with more powerful onboard chargers, you need a more powerful Level 2 charging station. At 19.2kW of charge, the Series 7 Plus is designed to deliver the right amount of power for your high-powered fleet. Click here to request your quote today!
