Leading electric vehicle charging company expands employee benefits and joins the list of top 50 small and mid-size companies for compensation and in North America as rated by employees
BOWIE, Md. – SemaConnect, leading provider of electric vehicle services to the North American commercial, residential, and fleet market, announces its newest award: Comparably’s Best Compensation 2021 (Small/Mid-Size Businesses). Rankings were determined by employee ratings during a twelve-month period between September 2020 and September 2021. SemaConnect ranked in the top 100 out of 700,000 North American companies for compensation.
Founded in 2008, SemaConnect designs and manufactures electric vehicle charging stations for office, workplace, multifamily, retail, fleet, and other commercial applications. The Series 6 is SemaConnect’s flagship charging station for shared use at all commercial properties. The Series 5 is designed for personal use at multifamily homes, and the Series 7 is designed for electric fleets. This year, SemaConnect launched the Series 7 Plus charging station for high-powered fleets and the Series 8 charging station for retail and public parking.
Not only has SemaConnect doubled its product line since the start of COVID-19, but it has also doubled in size and added new health benefits for employees and their families. Before the pandemic, SemaConnect was one of only a few Washington DC-region companies to offer health insurance at no cost to employees. Now employees can take advantage of additional free health benefits and disability at no cost to themselves.
Benefits at SemaConnect include:
- 100% employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance
- 100% employer-paid short-term and long-term disability
- Opportunity to lease an electric vehicle
- Free EV charging at the office
As employees wrote, “Our benefit package is outstanding. We receive 100% company paid benefits for both you AND your family. That is unheard of!” and “It meant a great deal to me having the EV benefit and utilizing that to pay off my car. I also like that we do not have to use part of our paycheck to pay for health insurance.”
“We are honored to win the 2021 Best Compensation Award,” said Jeannie Plew, vice president of human resources at SemaConnect. “Our goal is to be the best EV charging company, especially to our team members who make us successful. We’ve especially worked during the pandemic to add new benefits, including additional health benefits, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and an employee assistance program. As SemaConnect moves forward and expands our team, we’re excited to add new ways to support the SemaConnect family.”
